Brace yourselves for the third Breakin' Convention - the annual festival of Hip Hop dance theatre showcasing immense dance talent from around the world. Originating in the Bronx in the late 70s, hip-hop has become a global phenomena influencing everything from fashion and language to the music and lifestyles of communities from Thailand to Tower Hamlets. For a whole weekend, Sadler's Wells will be filled with performances, workshops and lec-dems all focusing on Hip Hop dance theatre culture. Hosted and curated by Jonzi D, this event brings some of the finest poppers, lockers, b-boys and b-girls together in one place, in one weekend. This year highlights include; Hip Hop legend Storm (Germany) with his compelling Solo for Two; highlight of BC05 Wanted Posse (France) return with a UK premiere Transe; Frank II Louise (France) bring their classic work Drop It; more gravity defying moves from the winners of the last three UK B-boy championships Project Soul (Korea); plus many more acts from US, Europe and the UK. Favourite DJ's the En4cers spin the tunes in the foyers.
