Birmingham Royal Ballet - Tombeaux/Sanctum/Facade

Birmingham Royal Ballet

Work:: Birmingham Royal Ballet (S0697032789)

Company Birmingham Royal Ballet

Production:: Tombeaux/Sanctum/Facade (T01959516684)

Tombeaux - David Bintley's homage to classical ballet draws you deep into a melancholy landscape. Tombeaux is Bintley's lament on the death of his mentor, the great Frederick Ashton. Sanctum - Lila York's ballet, inspired by the silent movies of Charlie Chaplin and others, is about making time for the things that matter in an increasingly frantic modern world. Sanctum fizzes with dark humour and affecting touches of optimism. Facade - Based on Edith Sitwell's deliciously nonsensical poetry, Ashton's ballet embraces the fun of it all with whole-hearted and willful abandon. Be entertained by a series of delightful characters - an enjoyable break from the sanity of everyday life!
