Birmingham Royal Ballet - Brouillards/The Dance House/Slaughter on Tenty Avenue

Birmingham Royal Ballet

Work:: Birmingham Royal Ballet (S0697032789)

Company Birmingham Royal Ballet

Production:: Brouillards/The Dance House/Slaughter on Tenty Avenue (T1929046755)

Three diverse works that each seek to preserve an individual moment in time. John Cranko's Brouillards takes inspiration from such fleeting images as rolling mists, the fall of autumn leaves, and the fragile strands of a spider's web. Meanwhile David Bintley's The Dance House honours a deceased friend of the Director, to a nostaligic but anarchic Shostakovich score. Finally Slaughter on Tenth Avenue is a crazy 30s comedy. After discovering a hitman in the audience is to target him as soon as his stage routine is over, our leading man has no option but to extend his energetic solo until the cops can arrive! A work of sparkling vitality and pure entertainment, the piece is the perfect ending to a programme of unforgettable moments.
