Ballet Black - The Suit/A Dream Within A Midsummer Night's Dream

Work:: Ballet Black (S02111829241)

The critically acclaimed Ballet Black strive to honour the traditions of classical ballet while breaking new ground with cutting-edge choreography. Now an essential part of the classical ballet landscape, the company is the perfect showcase for dancers of black and Asian descent, providing them with a platform on which to perform and practise their craft. Unsurprisingly, Ballet Black attracts dancers, choreographers and designers from around the world.

Production:: The Suit/A Dream Within A Midsummer Night's Dream (T1398603416)

Led by Artistic Director Cassa Pancho, Ballet Black celebrates dancers of Black and Asian descent. As part of their latest double bill, renowned British choreographer Cathy Marston choreographs a new ballet based on Can Themba's moving fable The Suit. Completing the evening is Arthur Pita's Olivier-nominated A Dream Within a Midsummer Night's Dream, which mixes classical and contemporary to distil the essence of Shakespeare's classic comedy.
