The Musicall Compass was formed in the year 2000 by former students of the Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. The Musicall Compass, which takes its name from an anonymous Renaissance treatise on the theory of music, specializes in performing baroque music theatre, especially the English masque, semi opera, and opera before Handel's popularisation of Italian opera in London in the eighteenth century.T01164200179Conductor Crispin Lewis.
