Following the free afternoon concert exploring how folk music has influenced classical composers, Proms Folk Day’s evening concert focuses on artists who are continuing, reviving and reinterpreting the traditions of English folk music. Tonight’s Prom presents a fascinating picture of the many directions folk music is taking, and includes appearances from Derbyshire-born singer Bella Hardy, guitarist Martin Simpson and the boisterous 11-piece big band Bellowhead - winners of three Radio 2 Folk Awards.
