Piano

Production:: (T01902079414)

Mozart's Concerto was premiered in Vienna in 1785, soon after his marriage to Constanze and at one of the busiest periods of his life. It has a bracing symphonic amplitude, its writing for piano remarkably inventive. Suk’s ‘Asrael’ Symphony (1906) is engaged with death: it takes its title from the Islamic angel of death and is a double memorial to both Dvorak, Suk’s beloved teacher, and to his wife Otylka (Dvorak’s daughter).
