Passion: The Music of Louis Andriessen

Passion: The Music of Louis AndriessenT0
The music of Dutch composer Louis Andriessen is unmistakable. Taking cultural references from political street music, Stravinsky, Berio, be-bop, jazz, Cage, Greenaway and Hal Hartley, Andriessen produces powerful and immediate music. In October the South Bank plays host to a fortnight of the composers music with explosive performances from the London Sinfonietta, the Steve Martland Band, Arditti String Quartet and the Bang-on-a-Can Allstars. The cream of Dutch contemporary music interpretation will be converging on the South Bank for the festival too. Don't miss Louis Andriessen himself, plus cabaret star Greetje Bijma, Ensemble Electra, Orchestra de Volharding, Amsterdam Loeki Stardust Quartet and Ensemble Loos.
