Originally written as incidental music to a play, Debussy's beguiling and fantastical Syrinx is now recognised as a seminal part of the flute repertoire. Ibert's charming set of miniatures for oboe, clarinet and bassoon are a delightful antithesis to Syrinx's bold statement.
