Music and Shakespeare

Music and Shakespeare

Work:: Music and Shakespeare (S1606440930)

Production:: (T01304133957)

Southern Pro Musica brings you an evening of orchestral masterpieces inspired by the works of Shakespeare, together with some of the Bard's most dramatic speeches performed by one of the UK's best-loved actors, Brian Blessed. The music ranges from the classical sparkle of Mendelssohn's Midsummer Night's Dream to dramatic orchestral works by Prokofiev and by Walton, whose Henry Vth Suite brings together the music from the classic 1944 film with the greatest orations by Shakespeare's play. There'll also be the romantic passion of Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet Overture to enjoy, the movingly poignant Nimrod by Elgar and Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on Greensleeves.
