Melvyn Tan

Work:: Melvyn Tan (S18873268)

Melvyn Tan has achieved a remarkable double success in his career as a master of the keyboard, first as a fortepiano performer of great refinement and delicacy and, in recent years, as a brilliant exponent of the modern grand piano. Having studied at The Royal College of Music, of which he is now a Fellow Melvyn embarked on international career. His many groundbreaking recordings for EMI include all Beethoven s piano concerti conducted by Roger Norrington.

Production:: (T1852145012)

Written by Mozart and Chopin when both were in their early twenties, these piano concertos remain popular to this day. The rarely performed versions for string quartet and piano are played alongside Janácek's Second String Quartet, nicknamed Intimate Letters, inspired by his private correspondence with a close friend.
