Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jolie Holland blends together a century of American song, imbuing her searingly truthful and emotionally powerful lyrics with elements of jazz, blues, soul and rock and roll. Holland was one of the founding members of the Be Good Tanyas, but struck out on her own, recording a series of demos in a band mate's living room.
