Part of Southbank Centre’s International Chamber Music Series, violinist Julia Fischer and pianist Martin Helmchen, two of the brightest stars of the younger generation, join forces for performances of the three Schumann Violin Sonatas. Julia Fischer was named Instrumentalist of the Year in the 2009 MIDEM Classical Awards, and Artist of the Year at the 2007 Classic FM Gramophone Awards, whereas Martin Helmchen, described as 'a pianist with all the virtues - vision, as well as virtuosity and vim' (Sunday Times), was a former BBC New Generation Artist.
