Making a much-anticipated Welsh debut is one of Europe's youngest national orchestras, a world-class enterprise that will be sure to create seismic waves at St David's Hall. The Reykjavik players bring Bizet's sparkling invention, Ravel's virtuosic concerto, with the esteemed French pianist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet and Prokofiev's vividly-imagined portrait of Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers. Native to Iceland is the striking talent of Anna Thorvaldsdottir whose mesmerising Aeriality was nominated as Composition of the Year at the Icelandic Music Awards 2012Conductor Yan Pascal Tortelier.
