Classical music fans will be treated to another spectacular performance from the Hull Philharmonic Orchestra at Hull City Hall on Saturday 11 May 2013, when the orchestra will be celebrating the 200th anniversary of Richard Wagner's birth. The orchestra will be joined by one of the country's top sopranos, Sarah Rhodes, who will perform the opening and closing items at the concert - Ah! Perfido, by Beethoven, Wagner's favourite composer, along with the ?Liebestod', which is from Wagner's Tristan and Isolde. Conducted by Andrew Penny, the orchestra will also perform other Wagner works including the Prelude to Act 3 of Lohengrin, the Prelude to Tristan and Isolde, and the Good Friday Spell from Parsifal, along with Wagner's favourite symphony, Beethoven's Symphony No.7 in A.
