The Gospel Messiah is Handel's perennial Christmas and Easter favourite re-imagined, with its recognisable arias, choruses and orchestration infused with jazz, gospel, R&B, soul and pop. With an original concept by Marin Alsop and musical arrangements by Bob Christianson and Gary Anderson, it is now a seasonal fixture at venues across the US since its 1993 premiere in New York. This performance will feature the celebrated South African tenor, Zwakele Tshabalala and one of the finest voices on the British soul scene Vanessa Haynes.
