Daniel Hope, the celebrated British violinist, performs the very first classical concert in the Elgar Room, the Hall's brand new performance space. The concert, 'A Ba-ROCK Explosion', will be all-standing as part of the Elgar Room's mission to present music and the performing arts in new and exciting ways. Daniel Hope has been described by one reviewer as 'the most exciting British string player since Jacqueline du Pre', famed for her performances of Elgar's Cello Concerto. Another critic described Daniel Hope's playing as 'a joy - technically impeccable but still passionate, singing and mercurial' The full-length concert will see Hope performing 'A Ba-ROCK explosion'. Daniel Hope and friends will explore the turbulent world of the baroque, with dance music, love songs and drinking tunes ranging from the highly popular- Bach, Handel and Telemann, to the unknown and outrageous, Falconieri, Matteis and Westhoff.
