Corinthian Chamber Orchestra - The Bernstein Project
Work:: Corinthian Chamber Orchestra (S2082187505)
Production:: The Bernstein Project (T0236636066)
The Corinthian Chamber Orchestra performs the core of Bernstein’s last concert, given at Tanglewood with the Boston Symphony on August 19, 1990 - Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony and Britten’s Four Sea Interludes. This was not planned as Bernstein’s final concert, but by that point he must have known that it would be - he died two months later of advanced lung disease. Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony also has particular significance for the CCO, having recorded it with their late Musical Director, Alan Hazeldine, who at the time was fighting a losing battle with lung cancer.
