Chamber Orchestra of Europe - Shell Classic International

Chamber Orchestra of Europe

Work:: Chamber Orchestra of Europe (S01434339948)

Production:: Shell Classic International (T0259103487)

The great Hungarian conductor Ivan Fischer and one of Europe's pre-eminent chamber orchestras combine in this energetic musical programme, with dynamic young violinist Julia Fischer. A rising star of the classical world, Julia Fischer won the prestigious 2007 Classic FM Gramophone Artist of the Year award, and made her debut at the last year's BBC Proms to huge critical acclaim. She performs Mendelssohn's lyrical, yet virtuosic violin concerto. The programme includes Rossini's witty, spirited Overture and Schubert's Fifth Symphony, written when he was 19, which captures all the optimism and enthusiasm of youth.
