When Mark's father developed progressive supranuclear palsy, the comedian organized a concert in the family home to try and find his father again. This work delves into the favourite operatic themes of family, love, death and art. Bravo Figaro! developed from an account that Mark gave as part of the Royal Opera House's annual Deloitte Ignite in 2011. It is a poignant and personal tale of his father's unlikely love of opera. Mark's father Colin was a self-employed builder, with a passion for Verdi, Rossini, Puccini and Mozart. When diagnosed with progressive supranuclear palsy, his life began to crumble. As his father descended into dementia, Mark staged a concert to try to connect to him through music.
