Boka Halat archiveAn acoustic, percussion-driven mix of sounds from four traditions: African and Asian grooves, English reeds and Caribbean Pans. The prime focus is the meeting of English dance melody and Gambian dance percussion. This melodic repertoire will comprise of English traditional music, plus some new songs created by the band. These tunes have specific reference to the rhythmic input of the African and South Asian musicians, improvised around set melodic, harmonic and rhythmic patterns.
