Voted Number One UK big band in the British Jazz Awards, 2005 and 2006 Endorsed by the Count Basie Society International The UK’s Number One big band, Paul Lacey’s Back to Basie Orchestra, reproduces the music of Count Basie with uncanny accuracy. Featured in the programme will be items from the landmark album The Atomic Mr Basie, that set Bill Basie’s name alongside Sammy Davis Jnr, Ella Fitzgerald, Billy Eckstein, Sarah Vaughan, and most importantly Frank Sinatra. The show also includes The Kid from Redbank, Splanky, Corner Pocket, Flight of the Foo Birds and a host of other Basie hits.
