A German Christmas - Armonico Consorty & Baroque Players

Work:: A German Christmas (S670435478)

Production:: Armonico Consorty & Baroque Players (T0914995617)

The Christmas Story - Heinrich Schutz. Lutheran Mass for Christmas - Michael Praetorius. Heinrich Schutz is widely regarded as being the most important German composer before JS Bach, and is also thought to have studied with Monteverdi in Venice. The influence of Venetian music on these composers is undoubtedly strong, and the combination of the brilliance in the perfection of German compositions of the time with the vibrant excitement of the Venetian school, created works of much colour, drama and melody. If you enjoyed last year's A Venetian Christmas, then this concert is not to be missed!
