The Wau Wau Sisters

The Wau Wau Sisters

Work:: The Wau Wau Sisters (S1913242518)

Author Tanya Gagne
Author Adrienne Truscott

Production:: (T1223697759)

The Wau Wau Sisters (pronounced "vow vow"), bring bad behaviour and unrestrained sisterly love to Edinburgh after forming a cult following in New York. In the alternative tradition of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Donkey Show and De La Guarda, The Wau Wau Sisters fuse circus, burlesque, comedy and music in a modern vaudeville style. Through gin-soaked smiles, these lascivious siblings offer a deliciously defiant mix of hell-raising humour, scintillating circus routines, original songs ranging from country to rock to rap, and outrageous acts like their schoolgirl striptease that promises to tickle Pope's fancy.

CORONAVIRUS: All venues in the UK were shut down on March 16, 2020, and the restrictions were finally lifted on July 19, 2021. It is important to mention that the UK Theatre Web archive listings (iUKTDb) from March 2020 to July 2021 might not be accurate due to the lack of information regarding rescheduled and cancelled shows.
