A regular nominee for the British Jazz Awards, Derek Nash has been a member of Jools Holland's Rhythm and Blues Orchestra since 2004, has led Sax Appeal for over 40 years and is a founder member of the Ronnie Scott's Blues Explosion. With the Some Kinda Wonderful show celebrating the music of Stevie Wonder and featuring vocalist Noel,McCalla, he regularly sells out performances across the UK. Performing original compositions and unique arrangements of jazz classics, the Derek Nash Acoustic quartet features some of the best exponents of jazz in the UK: David Newton (multi-award winning pianist), Geoff Gascoyne (double bass) and Sebastiaan de Krom (drums) whose work together has encompassed Jamie Cullum and Michel Legrand. Their CD ‘Joyriding' won the British Jazz Award for Best CD in 2012.
