Sweet Venue Lates at Dundee Rep - 3000 Trees: The Death of Mr William MacRae

Work:: Sweet Venue Lates at Dundee Rep (S397319155)

Production:: 3000 Trees: The Death of Mr William MacRae (T0511203865)

Andy Paterson's fringe smash play has gathered a cult following since its first sell-out run in 2014. Willie MacRae - anti-nuclear campaigner, SNP politician and successful lawyer. His death prompted speculation that he was murdered by the state. MacRae was found dying in his car on a Highlands road in 1985 with a single gunshot wound to the head, apparently fired from his own gun. Was he under surveillance the day he died and was he killed to protect government interests? Now in its third year of touring, this is a moving and thought-provoking play, offering a reminder of dark political times that resonates today.
