Little Belter

Work:: Little Belter (S198389904)

Little Belter is a new show that sees up-and-coming artist Elouise take on some of the biggest, most challenging show-stopping melodies ever written. Featuring over twenty specially arranged versions of classics by the likes of Judy Garland, Shirley Bassey and Dusty Springfield, Little Belter is a vocal tour de force that has audiences singing and dancing in the aisles as they embark on a funny, glamorous and exhilarating journey packed with glorious musical milestones. Through the iconic songs she performs, Elouise tells the story of how this Little Belter discovered her destiny: that she was born to sing. Little Belter is written by record producer and novelist Terry Ronald, whose dry wit and warm humour infuses this celebration of the legendary artists who have inspired Elouise, as she takes her audience on a candid, sequin-spangled joyride: with stories from her youth, and the truth about why, ultimately, she couldn't do anything else but sing. The music of Little Belter ranges from big band epics and disco anthems, to powerful ballads and torch song confessionals. The 90-minute show gives the audience a dazzling night to remember, with choreographed numbers featuring Elouise and her dancers singing and shimmying their way into the audience, resplendent in an array of glittering couture and classic ball gowns. The appearance of a burly fireman during the original song Fireman Of My Dreams is also a wonderful and hilarious highlight. To add to the audience's excitement, multi-media technology is used brilliantly throughout the show, and whether it's during the explosive James Bond spectacular, or the touching tribute to some of the silver screen's greatest female stars, it adds an extra, deliciously sensorial layer to the proceedings. Producer Steve Anderson, who has been the musical maestro at the helm of the last eight Kylie Minogue tours, is responsible for Little Belter's brand new musical arrangements, which range from classics like Barbra Streisand's Don't Rain on My Parade to spellbinding reinterpretations of recent hits like Lady GaGa's Born This Way. The show also includes original songs especially written for Little Belter - like the heart rending ballad Another Day - which brightly glows in a setlist already ablaze with well loved gems like Over the Rainbow, You Don't Have To Say You Love Me, Could It Be Magic and Tainted Love - plus so many more timeless songs that have left an indelible mark on our hearts.
