Details

Iwan Bala is a major figure in contemporary Welsh visual art. His practice is deeply rooted in the land, language and culture of his native Wales. Drawing upon artistic, literary, mythical and political identities, Bala has developed a highly idiosyncratic style that alludes to, subverts and continuously reinvents Celtic myth and culture. This exhibition presents new installations, wall-mounted constructions, paintings and drawings that examine ideas of shared cultural language and trans-nationalism and questions cultural identities promoted by the tourist and heritage industries.
