Michael G Wilson is widely acknowledged as one of the foremost collectors of nineteenth century photography. His personal collection, assembled over several decades, is among the most significant bodies of photographic art anywhere in the world. Fascinated by his 'collector's eye', the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television invited him to select an exhibition from the National Collection of Photographs, housed in the Museum. Containing more than one million images, dating from the earliest days of photography to contemporary works, the National Collection traces the evolution of art and science of photographic history. Michael G Wilson's selection offers a unique insight into the collection.
