(some)Body

This Russian company, Alyona Ageeva’s PosleSlov Theatre, present a piece of physical theatre. To quote "Does a body make us human? Does it have a soul? What hides beneath nudity? What is nudity itself?". The five women and one man who perform this piece are naked throughout - something you soon simply ignore as they tell an episodic piece covering aspects of the human condition.

I confess, in the first few minutes I thought to myself "sheesh, this is going to be a long hour" but was soon drawn in to their choreography and movement. Clever and highly disciplined you find yourself drawn inti the characters and relationships and the hour is suddenly over too soon. Mesmerising and thought provoking this is a piece to be savoured.
