Simon Cowell's performance in this play is magnificent. Someone reading a letter for 90 minutes, even one written by Oscar Wilde, could be a dry old experience but this is anything but. I couldn't believe when it ended, I thought he must have cut it short! Cowell's portrayal of Oscar's frustration and anger is fascinatting, with enough changes of mood and pace to keep you engrossed. Very happy to have been able to see such a powerful performance. My only quibble? Why was this on the fringe and not in the main festival?
