They try very hard to shock, but maybe too hard. From a clumsy contrived set up, we moved on to carefully scripted anarchy which was elevated by audience involvement. Avoid the front row unless you are happy to get stuck in. The performers delivered as their character types required, but nothing went quite far enough. Anger but not meltdown; stripping not nudity; suggestion not extreme. We are invited to collude with the cast in their takeover of BBC studios: we all know its silly- especially when the incompetent comedy police arrive. Then it gets really silly.
We were invited to review, good or bad, they just want a reaction. Well, I tried hard to hate it, but couldn't. The audience around me lapped it up. Maybe I should have had a few more beers to get me in the mood. A lot more beers...
