Steel Magnolias 2012 tour

Steel Magnolias is to tour in 2012 starring Kacey Ainsworth, Isla Blair, Cheryl Campbell, Cheri Lunghi, Sadie Pickering and Denise Welch. Robert Harling's 1987 play famously became a film in 1989 starring Dolly Parton and is set in the deep south of the USA. A tale of friendship and loss it revolves around a hair salon where the women meet to gossip, snipe and laugh but when tragedy strikes one family, the strength of their friendships shone through.

Full of wit and pathos, humour, love and tragedy I defie you not to both laugh and cry at this play ... done well it is a beautifully crafted piece of theatre and the chosen cast looks set to give us a great show. The play is based on Robert Harling's loss of his sister and it is that truch, perhaps, which gives it is staying power and earns it a place in our affections.
