This shocking but amazingly written play by Suzie Miller was given a West End outing at the Harold Pinter theatre. Seeing this broadcast version I am now regretting missing it as Jodie Cromer's performance is stunning. Fast paced and unforgiving, this is a play of sexual violence told against the backdrop of the failings in the legal system to understand the trauma involved. It seems at times during this that the system is such that justice can rarely, if ever, actually be done.
The set is clever and effective, Jodie seems to never stop moving, and rarely stops speaking in this theatrical tour de force. If seeing the broadcast version I advise getting there on time - the pre-show interviews are fascinating and provide an insight and some background to what the play is trying to convey.
Moving and unforgettable.
