Rambert's The Celebrated Soubrette

Rambert Dance Company has brought a new work into its repertoire: Javier de Frutos s The Celebrated Soubrette. Born in Venezuela de Frutos fascination with Tennessee Williams inspired him to draw on the glamour and contrasts of Las Vegas, a place that, like many of Williams plays, is bursting with life s winners and losers. The new work uses both by the city s claustrophobic atmosphere and the music and showmanship of Michael Daugherty s Le Tombeau de Liberace. Also on the programme at Festival Theatre, Edinburgh are Christopher Bruce s Ghost Dances and Glen Tetley s Embrace Tiger and Return to Mountain.
