Priscilla confirms closing date

The current run of Priscilla at The Palace Theatre is to end on 31st December 2011.

It has now been confirmed that Priscilla will close on 31st December 2011 - no great surprise as that date had already been mooted strongly. Running since March 2009 and just completing its 1000th performance this Oscar winning film inspired musical had its world premiere in Australia back in 2006. Currently starring Richard Grieve, Don Gallagher and Oliver Thornton the cast will be rejoined by Ray Meagher next month.

It is likely that the show will embark on an international tour early next year.

Reports are now that it will be replaced at The Palace by Singin' in the Rain ... possibly as a tribute to the recent rather wet summer ;-)
