Miss Saigon

I saw the original production in London some 15 or so years ago and was, frankly, unimpressed. As a result I was unexcited by the fact that they decided to bring it back but then a couple of friends whose opnions I rate very highly saw it and said it was excellent ... and then I wen to the Whatsonstage Awards and saw for myself the number of awards collected and heard the snippets included in the show and so I thought, why not - its my 60th birthday, perhaps I'll have fun.

Wow.

This production is a completely different beast ... it has been re-engineered (see what I did there?!) from the ground up into a powerful, fast, impressive show with some fabulous staging and sublime performances and singing. Eva Noblezada is brilliant and how Jon Jon Briones keeps up the energy I will never know.

Whatever you thought of the original, or if you have never seen it, give yourself a treat and go!
