Hard Times


Hard Times is looking distinctly accident prone. Brian Blessed collapsed from exhaustion during a preview and Roy Hudd slipped in the street and broke his wrist. You might be forgiven for expecting these two incidents to have provoked some urgent understudy rehearsals. But no. On Friday night Roy Hudd was so ill with laryngitis that he was forced to pull out of the performance at the interval and a half full Theatre Royal, Haymarket was informed that the understudy was not sufficiently rehearsed to finish the show…
