Lesley Garrett joined the Welsh National Opera Chorus and Orchestra on a tour showing off the chorus' versatility and capability. We saw the last night of the tour (Bristol) so you have missed it but it is something that they have done before so it might come around again.
Basically this is a sampler of some of opera's great choruses (and some other bits) to entertain and, perhaps, introduce you to music you don't know and are reluctant to spend a whole evening with on the off-chance of liking it. As such, its a good evening out with some special music from the Humming Chorus to The Alabama Song all woven together into an almost seamless entertainment.
But somehow it lacked focus; a problem most samplers suffer. The changes were well planned but a little clunky, the surtitles sometimes lagged the singers, the (always fabulous) orchestra was a little too strong and ... well ... it just failed to hit the mark it was looking for.
