It is a wake and you're all invited - tea, whisky and sandwiches are provided in abundance as you'd expect. The show takes a funny, but informative, look at some aspects of death, including picking a coffin, the choices of coffin furniture and options for the corpse. Some recorded interviews look at family reactions, especially those of children, and, in the end, we follow the coffin out and watch the hearse pull into the Edinburgh traffic. An interesting show on a topic that should be part of every day life but which gets pushed to the back of our minds so that when it hits us in real life we are curiously unprepared.
Pauline Goldsmith's performance hits just the right note and makes the show curiously enjoyable .. or ws that the whiskey?!
