The Roaring Girls challenge our perceptions of "fat" and our preconceptions of fat people - but not only fat, body image issues affect many women as they compare themselves to idealised images in magazines and on-line and the expectations of a society that seeks to shame those who do not conform to their template. Two of these women are plus sized with different experiences of how they perceive themselves and how they have been perceived and treated whilst the third has problems with food and exercise - the one she avoids the other she gets addicted to. The show mixes hard stories with humour and makes us aware of the impact words can have if thoughtlessly used. Great stage presence and on stage relationships meanI would happily watch these three just doing a sketch show let alone a show like this with impact. Enjoyable and thought provoking
