It would appear that a 3to 5 metre diameter piece of ceiling plaster fell into the auditorium during tonights show at the Nimax-owned Apollo Theatre in Shaftesbury Avenue. A number of people, possibly as many as 85, were injured, 5 seriously according to reports. The theatre can seat nearly 800 and there were over 700 in the audience ... Shaftesbury Avenue is currently closed and the emergency services are in attendance.
Our thoughts are with the injured and their families and our appreciation goes to the theatre staff and emergency services
