ATG Acquires 100% ownership of two West End Theatres

The Savoy has been jointly owned by ATG and The Tulbart Group since 2005, while The Playhouse Theatre has been jointly owned by ATG and the Tulchin family since 2003.

Rosemary Squire, ATG’s Joint CEO, said: "We are delighted to acquire full ownership of The Savoy and The Playhouse in the West End. These beautiful theatres are steeped in history and have already played a huge role in the success of our London operation. We look forward to many more wonderful years running them as proud theatre owners. It has been a particular pleasure working with the Tulchin family and Bob Bartner over the last decade and we hope to continue a close working relationship with them on many future productions."

A statement from Bob Bartner for The Bartner Group and Norman Tulchin, said: "Norman and I have enjoyed our time as owners of the Savoy in partnership with ATG and wish them well in the future. We intend to continue to partner with ATG and pursue other theatre opportunities in the future in London."

The Savoy Theatre is situated off The Strand, opened in 1881 and seats 1,200 people. It has recently been home to hit productions such as Legally Blonde the Musical, The Sunshine Boys, Soul Sister, Cabaret and Let it Be. In March 2014, ATG’s brand new production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels starring Robert Lindsay, Rufus Hound and Katherine Kingsley and directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell, will make its UK debut at The Savoy.

The Playhouse Theatre, is located on Northumberland Avenue, opened in 1882 and seats over 800 people. It has been home to productions such as Vincent in Brixton, Journey's End, Dreamboats and Petticoats, La Cage aux Folles and The Mystery of Charles Dickens starring Simon Callow. The Playhouse is currently home to ATG’s hugely successful production of Monty Python’s Spamalot by Eric Idle, starring Marcus Brigstocke, Jon Culshaw and Stephen Tompkinson and most recently Warwick Davis and Les Dennis.
