Animal Farm - The Sequel (New Wimbledon Theatre, Outer London)
4th Nov 24 :: 1

Poorly written, under rehearsed and abysmally and amateurishly delivered. A collection of clichs that didn't deliver anything new to the canon. Avoid.

Il Divo
23rd Oct 24 :: 4

A good show but the lighting was poor with bright lights flashing across the audience which were too bright and distracting. Also spotlights on performers were not synchronised correctly. Backing music at times overpowered the singers. The show was good but it was only on the last five songs that the quartet seemed to perform at the standard we had been hoping for. Too much plugging of their latest CD etc, more classy to just mention it at the end. Tried flattering the audience too much, made me feel uncomfortable. Could have discouraged people from using their phones and making videos as this was a nuisance and distraction for others in audience. Tickets expensive and small improvements could upgrade the show.

Su Pollard - Still Fully Charged
13th Oct 24 :: 5

Saw Su Pollard in her show 'Still Fully Charged' at the Pavillion Theatre Buxton and it was absolutely brilliant! Su is an absolute STAR! Her singing is fantastic, her personality shines out from the stage, her stories of her 50 years in Showbiz are fascinating and funny and she is an 1000% entertainer. Loved every minute. Thank you Su for a very, very enjoyable night! XX

An Evening of Burlesque
26th Sep 24 :: 1From when the curtain went up , it was as if 6 ex sex workers have knocked up this amateur touring production up - They need to be sued by everyone that goes for FALSE ADVERTISING as the poster conjures up images of a high quality burlesque show - it is nothing like that ! Cheap gags , tatty clothes and old ex sex workers parading around . I know that I will be demanding My Money Back.

Go! The Musical
25th Jul 24 :: 3

Saw this show at The Gatehouse yesterday, 24th July. The small auditorium was pretty full and the audience appeared to appreciate the performance overall. The production feel was pretty good, certainly given the stage the show is at. The cast were committed and did a good job, again within the level. The leads were great and I thought stood above the content they were delivering. I think the content was in need of further honing, specifically to delivery it's message more succinctly as well as giving more confidence that the show really understood it's own objectives. It felt as though there could be the core of a future production but at the moment it lacks clear definition. Still worth a watch to see the cast performances and speculate about the shoe's future.

A Bunch of Amateurs (Wigan Little Theatre, Wigan)
7th Jul 24 :: 5

"A bunch of amateurs" they certainly are not. This charming comedy was well performed by some amazing actors. I couldn't fault the show in anyway. The word brilliant was on my lips at the end of this show. You really have to see this play.

Love Hurts - Steve Steinman's Love Hurts - Power Ballads and Anthems Show
2nd Jul 24 :: 2

We saw this show a few nights ago and we were a little sad that Steve wasn't the main singer, he did pop in for a song and left due to an injury he'd had a while ago. We weren't aware he wasn't going to be there, nor were the couple that travelled quite some distance. The music was okay if a little high pitched, but no complaints. At one point it did feel a bit like a stag do, when one of the singers came on stage to do a stripper dance, no complaints from the men filming so I guess we know Steve's target audience, but for me I felt uncomfortable. I won't be going to another one, this will be the third and I'm sorry but they're all much alike.

Love Hurts - Steve Steinman's Love Hurts - Power Ballads and Anthems Show
14th Jun 24 :: 3

Show was good and amazing singers, musicians & dancers however title of show very misleading as it states 'Steve Steinman Love Hurts' we only wanted to attend as is in the past we have gone to Steve Steinman shows and we were under the impression there would be at least a few Meat Loaf tracks unfortunately this was not the case and we left the theatre feeling a little deflated and with a promise we will not be back

So Help Me Dog

Thrillingly original work - a breath of fresh air amongst the earnest theatrical lectures I've found myself seeing over the past couple of years. This deserves a wide audience.

The School for Scandal
2nd Jun 24 :: 5

Saw it last night at Darlington, it was the last night and the audience was a bit down. The actors however gave their all and as I have no previous experience of the play it took a while to work out who the characters were. There were some very funny moments and as I could work out who was who it was more enjoyable. Would I recommend it... of course I would... it's a great piece of live theatre well performed by excellent actors. I see a lot of live theatre... I wish more people would go along it's better value than a football game and a lot more fun... and no one got sent off!!!!

So Help Me Dog
2nd Jun 24 :: 5 So Help Me Dog" is a must-see, offering a profound and entertaining theatrical experience with excellent performances and a well-crafted storyline. The play expertly balanced humor, music, and heartfelt drama, evoking both laughter and tears. Excellent value at the Hen & Chicken we had a fabulous evening.
Dionne Warwick - Don't Make Me Over
19th May 24 :: 1

I could understand if this show was half songs and half documentary. It would make it a lot more interesting. But to have a 10% songs and 90% self-indulgent and self-praising chat with a guy on the couch bigging up Dionne and fawning over her was a waste of money. Additionally one of Dionne's song was totally mullered compared to its original format- apparently it's called artistic licence but it seemed like destructive licence. Don't waste your money and time.
