Tenth Planet Productions was set up in February 1998 by Alexander Holt, Mark Underwood and Euan Morton after they completed their NCDT training at Mountview Theatre School. We have produced numerous plays since the company was established in February 1998 both in London & Edinburgh and have associations with national touring companies. Tenth Planet Productions is a company which produces new and established work in a theatrical format. Principally a theatre company, we intend to provide opportunities for writers, actors, directors and designers that they otherwise may not have access to by means of financial constraints, not being able to mount productions by themselves without the support of a company behind them, those whose work is considered too much of a risk by large, commercial producers. We are a non profit producing company, limited by guarantee without a sharehold capital and without any subsidy provided from any sector as yet. The content and presentation of our work is believed to be of the highest standard and as a result, Academy Award Winner Dame Judi Dench heads a select Patron list with a view to influencing support in this terribly difficult environment. We also have an accomplished panel of advisory directors keeping an eye on the quality of our work, from the chairman of the director's board of Equity to leading contemporary playwrights. Artistic Aims are: - To create a form of Theatre which is visually exciting & intellectually stimulating. - To advance education for the public benefit by promotion of the arts. In particular, but not exclusively the art of drama. - To produce a constant turnover of work, hence employing many fine actors, directors, musicians, writers & technicians. - To stage productions in a filmic style, bringing the distance of the screen world into the immediate, using pure theatre forms and multi-media forms in a dynamic and contemporary fusion of art. - To establish new spaces for performance which adhere to and enhance the needs of specific productions (be it a conventional or unconventional space). http://www.tenthplanetproductions.com
