The Lions Part
The Lions part is a group of like-minded professional actors who have come together though the verse work they experienced with the Original Shakespeare Company. Their aim now is to explore verse drama in any theatrical or celebratory form and to provide a basic resource that supports projects, events and activities that members devise. Our festivals include the use of Morality and Mummers plays, Shakespeare texts, folk tales, rhymes, music and song. The festivals spring out of time-honoured celebrations, customs and storytelling, whilst new and innovative qualities are added which acknowledge the local environment, the season and the festival. We relish audience response and participation in line with the freestyle manner common to open air and street theatre. http://www.thelionspart.co.uk
