Kingsbury Amateur Operatic Society (K.A.O.S)
This is a new site for Kingsbury Amateur Operatic Society based in North West London. Productions take place at Kingsbury High School twice a year and rehearsals generally take place on Monday evenings. The variety and professionalism of the productions provides local audiences with a broad experience of musicals and operetta ranging from the virtually unknown The Rose of Persia, through the ever popular G&S operetta and Rodgers & Hammerstein musicals, to brand new productions such as RAGS. Work by composers ranging from Jaques Offenbach to Edward German, from Franz Lehar to Lionel Bart, from Frank Loesser to Sammy Fain. The Society is affectionately known as KAOS but has no links to the professional company of the same name. KAOS has presented over 60 productions at the school and still counts some of its original cast among its present Members, including the current Chairman, Mike Stevens. The Society is a Registered Charity - Please visit the site for more information.
A musical play in two acts. Book by C G Wilson and Dody Denman. Lyrics and Music by Chuck & Barrie Quappe. King John is given the chance to prove he was not the worst and most evil king who ruled England. Modern music and songs with 19 numbers and a plot with more twists and turns than a TV soap opera. The audience are the jury. After its premiere in the Cayman islands a theatre critic described it as 'compelling'.
