Our next production is the comedy THE THINGS WE DO FOR LOVE by ALAN AYCKBOURN. -- Alan Ayckbourn's award-winning play is set in a South-West London Victorian terraced house divided into three flats. The owner, Barbara, a fastidious, frosty, elegant spinster executive, contentedly occupies the pristine, ordered, male-free ground-floor flat. Downstairs is the ceiling of the basement flat on which Gilbert - a postman, handyman and bore who rents the flat from Barbara - is secretly painting a lurid, nude study of Barbara. Upstairs is the first floor flat which Barbara is letting to Nikki, an old schoolfriend, and Nikki's fiancé Gordon, despite the fact that Barbara and Gordon have taken an instant dislike to one another. But, ever life's victim, Nikki is destined to suffer again when Gordon and Barbara suddenly embark on a night of violent, uninhibited passion. -- This production runs from Wednesday 23rd - Saturday 26th October 2002, 7.30pm. Tickets are £4.50/£3.00 (All tickets £3.00 on Wednesday)(10% discount on block bookings) available from The East Kilbride Village Theatre Box Office - 01355 248669 http://www.ek-rep.org.uk
