Armonico Consort - Mozart & Bach

Work:: Armonico Consort (S1568632826)

Armonico Consort was formed in 2001 and specialises in baroque and renaissance music.
Company Armonico Consort

Production:: Mozart & Bach (T0189587587)

Following their acclaimed performance of Mozart's Requiem in Autumn 2022, Armonico Consort return to Malvern with Mozart's other large-scale sacred music masterpiece: The Great Mass in C Minor. Written in 1784 Mozart had, at the time, immersed himself in the music of Bach and Handel and the work's big choruses and grand, 'operatic' solos reflect their influence. Also on the programme is Bach's celebrated setting of the Magnificat, which he composed for Christmas 1723. Amongst the most dramatic and beautiful settings of the text, Bach's multi-movement setting combines sublime solos with exciting and virtuosic choral writing.
