The Zoo by Sullivan and Rowe was premiered in June 1875 just three months after the first performance of Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury. However, while Trial went on to be regularly performed by both amateur and professional groups The Zoo disappeared from view, not be rediscovered until 1977.
